Description | An overview of the field of live sound. Includes principles of live sound and the theory and interconnection of the components of a sound reinforcement system. | ||||||||||

Learning Outcomes | Describe signal flow in sound reinforcement set-up; and explain the function, characteristics, and specifications of the components of a sound reinforcement system. | ||||||||||

• Demonstrate basic proficiency in creating original music and audio that supports the visual narrative. • Demonstrate basic proficiency in short-form video production & editing, media delivery formats, and audiovisual workflow. • Recognize and observe professional best practices in the audiovisual field, including the various roles in film, audio engineering, and media. • Produce a final portfolio and resume suitable for entry-level employment in the audiovisual field. |

-No food or tobacco products are allowed in the classroom. -Only students enrolled in the course are allowed in the classroom, except by special instructor permission -Electronic devices are not allowed in class unless specifically allowed by the instructor. -Silence your cellphones, laptops etc. before class. -Failure to participate and/or creating distractions during class will result in you being required to leave. -Safe handling, storage, setup, teardown and management of equipment and peripherals is required. -All class related discussion regarding grades, attendance etc. is limited to instructor's office hours. |

Absences include: -Being absent from class -Leaving class early -Arriving late to class (one absence per tardy after 3) Any combination totaling three (3) or more absences from the above list will result in the student receiving a failing grade unless otherwise determined. Students may discuss absences during office hours. |
